How the team was created?
Jim Hewitt, a promising businessman in Orlando met the general manager of Philadelphia 76ers named Pat Williams in the city of Texas. Hewitt approached Pat about the thought of bringing an NBA team in Orlando, Pat supported Hewitt’s idea and signed as the front man investor a year after he left the Philadelphia. The formal announcement about the franchise was held dated back on June 19, 1986 during a news conference.
In the early years of their basketball career, the Orlando Magic has performed well and had frequent winnings in the playoffs and regular seasons. However, just like all NBA teams, Orlando Magic experienced a little downside during the years 1991 and 1992 when several players of Orlando missed games because of the injuries. The small number of fit players resulted in a 17-game losing streak with the worst record of 21-61. Despite their struggles, Orlando Magic was still able to have a total of 41 home games sold out.
