Cleveland Cavaliers popularly known as “Cavs” is a team situated in Cleveland, Ohio. In the year 1970, the Cavs started playing at the National Basketball Association (NBA) where they served as one of the expansion teams. The team usually plays their home games at the Quicken Loans, Arena, which was shared with the Arena Football League’s Cleveland Gladiators and American Hockey League’s Lake Erie Monsters.
The team was a hit in the antiquity of the NBA as they were able to feature numbers of NBA big stars during its history, biggest stars including the breeze picks turned out to be All-Stars like Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Austin Carr, Zydrunas IIgauska, Walt “Clyde” Frazier, Shaquille Oneal and Nate Thurmond.
The team has been looked up by many basketball enthusiasts until recent times as they have proven much during their early years. During the years 1976, 2009 and 2010, Cleveland Cavaliers won three frequent championships in Central Divisions and a total of 18 playoff seasons.
However, like almost all NBA teams, Cleveland also experienced a little downside in the years 2010 to 2011, under Ted Stepiens ownership, the Cavs had several uncertain divisions which resulted in the regulation of trading draft picks termed as the “The Stepien Rule”.
The Cleveland Cavaliers started playing in the National Basketball Association in the year 1970 under Nick Mileti’s ownership. The name “Cavaliers” was forwarded by Jerry Tomko via sponsored competition by The Plain Dealer. Jerry Tomko is the father of Brett Tomko, who was a League Baseball Player. During their inaugural season in the same year, Cleveland made a wrong hit with the worst league of 15-67 record under the coaching of Bill Fitch.
In the year 1971, the team drafted Autin Car who later appeared to be one of the Cavs’ best players. During Austin’s arrival, an increase in the scoring records was shown, however, by their misfortune, Austin had his leg seriously injured that resulted him to rest shortly from his basketball career. Until recent times, Cavaliers have been showing a swift change in the NBA yet they remained to be a strong competitor among other teams in the NBA leagues.
