The “Boston Bruins” is a professional ice hockey team situated in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The team is part of the Atlantic Division that plays in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). For almost 90 years, the Boston Bruins have been in their presence since the year 1924 until the present time. For the record, the team is considered as the oldest team in the United States and ranked as the third oldest team in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The franchise history began back in the year 1924, when the National Hockey League was certain to have an expansion located in the United States. The team was seen by Charles Adams (known as the Boston grocery tycoon) playing with the NHL champion and WCHL champions Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Tigers. At the time, Adams was awestruck and he immediately thought of pursuing a franchise for the team. The official team franchise happened on November 1, 1924 and the team was one of the NHL first expansion teams along with the Montreal Maroons.
Together with the franchise of other NHL teams such as the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins were also members of the Original Six Franchise.
Just like other NHL teams, the Boston Bruins have aimed not only for good, but the best out of their NHL career. In fact, they have proven their hard work as they won a six frequent Stanley Cup Championship and ranked as the fifth most of all-time teams and second best out of the 11 American NHL teams next to the Detroit Red Wings.
The team usually plays their home games at the TD arena since the year 1995, before 1995, Boston Bruins used to play their home games at the Boston Gardens, which it also lasted for 67 seasons.
